Foundation Enters Fourth Year

The Lee County Education Foundation (LCEF), organized in June 2003, moves into the 2006-2007 school year having funded numerous programs highly likely to result in improved student achievement.

Progress Energy Foundation makes award to LCEF

The Progress Energy Foundation has awarded the Lee County Education Foundation 15,000 to fund the Teachers and Scientists Collaborating (TASC) program in the Lee County schools. TASC is a National Science Foundation sponsored program that provides K-8 classroom teachers with training in the use of inquiry based science kits. As many as 45 Lee County elementary school teachers will be trained in inquiry based science using a curriculum that is aligned with the NC Standard Course of Study.
